Environmental Noise Surveys

Environmental noise surveys cover any aspect of external noise.

This could include noise that is being experienced by an individual, at home or in the workplace, either of an industrial nature or other noise source. The noise source that is causing a disturbance to the individuals “amenity”; that is to say, the enjoyment of their environment, is being disturbed by the noise.

There are several approaches to providing an environmental noise survey; each one requires knowledge of the potential source and an investigative method for identifying and assessing the noise output. Once identified, the source can be monitored and mitigating noise control advice provided, so that it can be reduced to such a level that it no longer poses a disturbance or loss of “amenity” to the recipient.
